I should probably be telling you all about my favourite Lemsip flavour this month but luckily I have managed to enjoy a few outings and have a few projects to share with you this month…
I mentioned my first visit to Provenance in Worcester in my January Favourites blog, and it was so good I went back for more - I’m still dreaming about their Iced Salted Caramel Parfait with Honeycomb!
I spent the first weekend of February with Sian from Sian Conway Photography taking photos of each other for our blogs in and around Worcester, you might have noticed a little update on our homepage with one of the photos Sian took of me. It was a great day of feeling very creative, although I don’t think a modeling career is for me - I definitely prefer being on the other side of the camera.
We then ended our busy day of photography with an afternoon tea at Stone Manor Hotel near Kidderminster. The selection of savoury was a little disappointing for the vegetarian but the cakes and biscuits made up for it.
It seems the older I get, the more I go to the cinema - Why is that? I used to go about once a year but I went twice this past month! I went to see Zoolander 2 and How to be Single - Both laugh out loud, light hearted films which I’ll be happy to watch again.
Work wise, we had a good few weeks in February - I say a few weeks because I took half of February off poorly! I mentioned in my New Year blog that one of the projects that I was looking forward to this year was creating brand guidelines for Ormerod Rutter and I’m pleased to have designed the first draft this month. There’s still a lot of work to be done on them, writing rules and designing diagrams to follow in order to create brand consistency - I’m looking forward to seeing how they develop over the next month.
In my January Favourites blog I shared the banners we designed for Franco Florenzi to go up at the Worcester Warriors stadium, this month we did some more work for the watch brand, designing some posters to also go up at the Sixways Stadium. I've really enjoyed creating a style for their marketing, which includes a dark background and simple graphics to go with their high-end image.
We had a busy February with Arley Arboretum, launching two events in one month - Easter and Mothers Day. Both launches went really well, and we’ve been getting great feedback on their Facebook page, especially on the advert campaigns we’ve been running throughout the month. We met another milestone on their social media this month, reaching 5000 likes on their Facebook Page - Our target is to reach 10,000 this year and we are well on target with almost 500 likes last month.
We’ve had a little helping hand managing all our own social media accounts this month, along with our social media clients' accounts, from Edgar - A brilliant social media management tool for scheduling Facebook and Twitter statuses. It’s taking some getting used to after years of scheduling posts through Hootsuite but it’s proving a really useful tool and I’m excited to keep road testing it and will report back soon.
I usually have lot’s of new favourite purchases to share, but the only one I thought deserved a mention this month is my new pencils from Ohh Deer embossed with ‘What Would Beyonce do?’ because some days you just need to think like Beyonce and be an Independent Woman.
